| In Edinburgh Still [ 6.Dec.2006] |
|
Hey,
I am still in edinburgh, although this is my last day and I have been all over scotland in the past week.
On Saturday I took a bus trip up past Glencoe all the way to Loch Ness which is in the far North of scotland, where I took a cruise on the Loch and unfortunately didn't see the monster Nessie. But they say she is in hiding after all this new technology has come looking for her. Go figure. That being said, he was first sited by an Irish Man in 500 AD, so that would make Nessie pretty old by now, I'm am very impressed if not a little dubious.
That evening, I met up with Jessie from Ski accident fame (in Montreal) and the following day I took a drive through the Scottish Countryside. Where it proceeeded to rain so heavily it was virtually a tropical storm, except it was 8 degrees out.
Since then I have been into the Edinburgh Castle, seen the Royal Scottish Museum and walked up Arthurs Seat, the mountian/hill/knoll overlooking the city, fortunately on a great day when the sun was shining, which doesn't happening often!
Have seen two movies here as well, Casino Royale, and Stranger than Fiction, loved them both, James Bond is a great addition to the series, although the romance (assuming this is supposed to be the first James Bond) does not sit entirely right with the previous bond's in the series, but alas, what can you do.
Stranger than Fiction, with Will Ferrell was also REALLY good, I recommend it to anyone who liked Garden State and those styles of movies, and I think i particularly enjoyed it since I have listened to the soundtrack alot before I saw the movie which gave me a greater appreciation for the songs when they appeared in the movie.
My movements in the next few days involve me flying back from Scotland where I will spend tomorrow night in Brussels, then a night in Paris, where I plan to take the train to Madrid for a day or two onto to somewhere in Portugal to visit Urs. Hopefully all goes well as I speed through 6 countries in the next week.
Anywho, Thats all for now.

| In Edinburgh [30.Nov.2006] |

Hello everyone from the land of Scotch Whiskey! Just flew in yesterday from Amsterdam and it's a REALLY nice city here! Have taken a few tours of the museums here, including tartan museum, tattoo museum (military tattoo that is), the historical and peoples museum. And I also visited the Scotch Whiskey Center which had a very informative tour about the types and styles of Whiskey and there history. Complete with a free tasting session and a free whiskey glass. Today I had a great sleepin, something I haven't done for a while and I woke to find the day nice and Britishy Bleak and wet, combined with Gale force winds! (35mph they say). Anyway, going to organise some food now, and also probably a day trip tomorrow to the loch Ness! and the Scottish Highlands. Wish me luck! |

| Canada [13.Apr.2005] |

Well, as my time here in Canada draws to a close, I decided that perhaps a little memory of my time here might be appropriate. I initially made it with myself in mind, however I am sure most of you can get something out of it. Download it here: HIGH QUALITY (18Mb) LOW QUALITY (5.5Mb) If anyone wants any of the photos I used in the Movie, let me know.

| Summer in Australia [10.Feb.2005] |
|
Well, I found this on the internet tonight... I think it perfectly describes some summers in many parts of Australia!!! August 31st: Just got transferred with work into our new home in Perth!! Now this is a city that knows how to live!! Beautiful sunny days and warm balmy evenings. What a place! I watched the sunset from a deck chair on the verandah. It was beautiful. I've finally found my home. I love it here. September 13th: Really heating up. Got to 25 today. Not a problem. Live in an air-conditioned home, drive an air-conditioned car. What a pleasure to see the sun everyday like this. I'm turning into a sun worshiper. September 30th: Had the backyard landscaped with tropical plants today. Lots of palms and rocks. What a breeze to maintain. No more mowing lawn for me. Another scorcher today, but I love it here. October 10th: The temperature hasn't been below 27 all week. How do people get used to this kind of heat? At least today it's kind of windy though. But getting used to the heat is taking longer that I expected. October 15th: Fell asleep by the pool. Got 3rd degree burns over 60% of my body. Missed 3 days of work. What a d*umb thing to do. I learned my lesson though. Got to respect the ol' sun in a climate like this. October 20th: I missed Kitty (our cat) sneaking into the car when I left this morning. By the time I got to the hot car for lunch, Kitty had died and swollen up to the size of a shopping bag and stank up the $3,000 leather upholstery. I told the kids that she ran away. The car now smells like Wiskettes and cat sh*it. I learned my lesson > though. No more pets in this heat. October 25th: The wind sucks. It feels like a giant bl*ody blow dryer!! And it's hot as hell. The home air-conditioner is on the blink and the AC repairman charged $200 just to drive over and tell me he needed to order parts. October 30th: Been sleeping outside by the pool for 3 nights now. Bl*ody $450,000 house and we can't even go inside. Why did I ever come here? November 4th: It's 30 degrees. Finally got the ol' air-conditioner fixed today. It cost $500 and gets the temperature down to 25, but this bl*ody humidity makes the house feel like it's about 30. St*upid repairman. I hate this st*upid place. November 8th: If another wise a*rse cracks, "Hot enough for you today?" I'm going to strangle him. Bl*oody heat. By the time I get to work the car's radiator was boiling over, my clothes are soaking wet, and I smell like baked cat!! November 9th: Tried to run some messages after work. Wore shorts, and sat on the black leather seats in the ol' car. I thought my a*rse was on fire. I lost 2 layers of flesh and all the hair on the back of my legs and my a*rse. Now my car smells like burnt hair, fried a*rse, and baked cat. November 10th: The weather report might as well be a bl*oody recording. Hot and sunny. Hot and sunny. Hot and sunny. It's been too hot to do anything for 2 dam months and the weatherman says it might really warm up next week. Doesn't it ever rain in this dam place? Water rationing will be next, so my $2,000 worth of palms just might dry up and blow into the bl*oody pool. Even the palms can't live > in this heat. November 14th: Welcome to HELL!!! Temperature got to 30 today. Now the air-conditioner's gone in my car. The repairman came to fix it and said, "Hot enough for you today?" My wife had to spend the $2,500 house payment to bail my a*rse out of jail for assaulting the repairman. Bl*oody Perth. What kind of a sick demented idiot would want to live here? December 1st: WHAT????? This is the first day of Summer???? You are fu*king kidding.

| New Domain [ 8.Feb.2005] |
|
Well, welcome to my new domain, it\'s still in development of sorts so hopefully when I find enough suitable content for this page, it will fill up a bit more.
In the meantime, I have a selection of photographs from my trip to Ottawa over the weekend, . Take your time to check it out, as I have already poured a substantial amount of time and effort into that thing.
